Yuneec Firebird FPV Review
|Have you been paying attention to the new drones that will be coming out in 2018? Being the major drone fanatic that I am, I couldn’t help but to pay close attention to the upcoming drones. While there are many drones that have been announced, the one that I would like to take some time to talk to you about today is the Yuneec Firebird FPV.
Yuneec showed off a couple of their upcoming drones a the CES 2018, and here’s what I have learned about it so far …
The Yuneec Firebird FPV is Easy to Assemble
One feature that makes this drone stand out to me is the fact that it is easy to assemble. It’s a fixed-wing drone build to be easy to put together. So, this means, if you have never touched a drone before, this one right here would be best for you.
Auto Features of the Yuneec Firebird FPV
Amongst the features, you’re going to find a couple of auto features, like an auto landing and an auto return to home feature. I personally like the auto return to home feature, because this means I don’t have to worry about my drone being lost.
Auto return drones are great, because they’re less likely to crash. With the auto return home feature combined with the auto land feature, your drone might last for a long time.
The Yuneec Firebird FPV Supports HDMI
The drone was rated to go up to 1640 feet, which is great. The controller that comes with the FPV can also support HDMI, which many of you may find useful.
FPV Headset on the Yuneec Firebird FPV Drone
For those that use the drone with an FPV headset, you’re in for a nice experience. Thanks to an on-screen display of telemetry data, the pilot can have an interesting simulated airplane experience.
Three Different Flight Modes of the Yuneec Firebird FPV
This new drone from Yuneec also has three different flight modes that I feel you may find interesting. Underneath the frame, there’s infrared sensors. Then, there’s a camera that can pan right or left.
Shoot Videos Up to 4K with the Yuneec Firebird FPV
The Yuneek Firebird FPV has a camera with a 117 degree lens, but it is capable of shooting videos up to 4K. The aperture of the camera has been fixed at f/2.5.
Weight of the Yuneec Firebird FPV
The firebird FPV is light, weighing in at around 1,200 grams and that is with the battery installed in it. Since it’s so light, it can fly up to 52 miles per hour for a total of 30 minutes.
Wind Span of the Yuneec Firebird FPV
The wing span of the drone is measured at 47.2 inches and the length is 32.7 inches, so it’s a nice sized drone.
Conclusion
I’m really glad Yuneec used CES in order to announce their upcoming new drones for 2018. This is a lightweight drone that will allow you to fly it for up to thirty minutes, and it has promised a flying experience that is a lot like flying a real full-sized aircraft (that caught my attention right away).
When you’re using the Firebird FPV, you will be able to pull some pretty awesome acrobatic maneuvers like rolls, inverted flights, and loops.
If you’re a beginner who doesn’t have experience with drones, then the FPV is the best choice due to the in-built Safety Mode. This Safety mode makes it impossible for the drone to descend below a certain altitude, so you don’t have to worry about crashing it.
The Geo Fence, Return Home and Auto Landing capabilities will help reduce your fears of crashing your brand-new drone.
All in all, regardless of who you are, even if you’re a beginner, if you’re currently on the market for a brand new drone, then the FPV right here might be a suitable option for you. I would definitely recommend it to everyone I know …
