Dj Mavic Air Review

At the CES 2018 in New York, there was a lot of drones being announced. DJI even stepped up and made a couple of announcements. For those of you that aren’t familiar with DJI, they are well-known throughout the world when it comes to aerial imaging technology and civilian drones. At the CES 2018, they announced the upcoming DJ Mavic Air, which to me, really stood out from the crowd.

In order to see whether or not the DJ Mavic Air is something that is worth waiting for, continue reading what I have to tell you about it …

The Dj Mavic Air Is VeryPortable

Starting out, if you enjoy taking your drone with you like I do, you’re going to appreciate the fact that this drone is ultra-portable and foldable. It is capable of delivering higher performance and more intelligent features than most of the other consumer drones currently on the market.

The Mavic Air was developed with the outdoor enthusiast and traveler in mind and has some of the best features you’re going to find in a drone. Wherever adventure takes you, this drone right here will enable limitless exploration.

The Design Of The Dj Mavic Air Drone

This drone is like the Mavic Pro in terms of being able to fold it up in order to make it even smaller. While the Mavic Pro was portable, this one right here is even more portable. When it’s folded up, it has the footprint of, let’s say, a small tablet and is half the size of the Mavic Pro. Of course, you’re probably not going to be able to fit it in your shirt pocket, but perhaps you could fit it in your jacket.

As far as the weight goes, it weight a little under a pound, so when you’re carrying it around, you’re probably not even going to notice it there. In fact, if you’re not careful, you could end up forgetting all about it. To me, I find the fact that it weighs a little under a pound pretty impressive.

Specs On The Dj Mavic Air

If you’re familiar with the Mavic Pro, then you’re probably going to understand the DJI Mavic Air, because the specs are similar, but to me, the Mavic Air sounds much better.

The Mavic Air is capable of shooting 4k video at 24 or 30 frames per second or take pictures that are 12-megapixel with a wide angle 24mm f2.8 lens. It offers support for recoding 1080p 120 fps slow-motion video, so you will be able to capture your adventures in the air.

It can fly at 42.5 miles per hour and go through winds that are up to 22 miles per hour.

Thanks to the new antenna design, it has a 2.5 mile range.

The gimbal system is recessed into the system so the drone has a smaller footprint than normal. Also, you will have 8GB of internal storage to work with, which means you will be able to save your videos and photos without having to add a microSD card.

Take a look at the full specs that I managed to find:

  • 24mm F2.8 lens
  • Three-axis stabilized 4K camera
  • Foldable body
  • Increased signal coverage
  • New ventilation system that will help prevent overheating
  • Can reach speeds up to 42.5 mph
  • Has a 2.5 mile range
  • Offers a flight time of up to 21-minutes
  • Is capable of flying up to 16,000 feet above sea level
  • Built-in 8GB of storage with a MicroSD expansion
  • Optional remote that has been designed for portability (the thumbsticks are removable)
  • USB-C port
  • Available in a total of three colors: Black, white, and red

Flight Time Of The Dj Mavic Air Drone

The DJI Mavic Air offers a maximum flight time of up to 21 minutes, which is a longer flight time than a lot of the other drones on the market. When it comes time to charge the battery, it will only take a total of 55 minutes with the Charging HUB or standard USB charger in order for it to reach full charge.

Conclusion

The DJI Mavic Air is something that you may be interested in if you like to take your drone around you – it is the ultimate drone for capturing videos and taking pictures from the air. Plus, the flight time of 21 minutes is really good for a drone like this.
